Online Classes

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I took genetics from OSU. They have some courses.

I don't know much about online courses either, but I do plan on taking OSU's nutrition course sometime this upcoming academic year.

I'm taking Animal Nutrition At Purdue in the Spring. I'm not really sure what to expect as this is my first online class. 🙄

I thought there was a thread on this posted a few weeks ago.

If you mean good 'ol Oklahoma, we have animal genetics, intro to animal science, and animal nutrition. These would count towards pre-reqs at various schools. I'm sure we have some other ansci online/distance courses... but nothing else to count as a pre-req, I don't think.

What about calculus online? That's starting to look like my only option for that class, since it's offered at such funky times and I work full time as well...stupid life/money getting in the way of my dreams!

I took Orgo II online, and I wish to all heavens that I had done it for Orgo I. Being able to stop/rewind lectures made learning concepts billions times better. I love the idea and impact of distance ed courses (I actually TA one.)

I think it is really hard to generalize them, though. There are a hundred and one ways online courses can be taught, and just as many different ways that people do and don't learn.

I've never taken math online, but I've taken about 10 other classes. I have heard that math is one of the worst classes to take online - having to input all the formulas by hand, strange programs to figure out, and all that fun stuff. It really depends on your college and how they teach it, though. Like the other poster said, online classes are incredibly subjective. If you can, I'd recommend trying to find other students who have taken it online and see if they'd recommend it, etc. 🙂 Good luck!

VS333 - Domestic Animal Anatomy at Colorado State University is fantastic!!!

Has anyone taken North Carolina's Comparative Nutrition course online?
Are the exams proctored? All it says are "exams offered through the internet"
I do better when I can print the exam off and go sit with it than I do on a pc screen!
