Hello fellow Non-trads,

I'm halfway through with my pre-reqs and I have one more year to go. I'm sporting a 3.4 cGPA with a 3.6 sGPA, complete with strong upward trend and plenty of EC's. However, my science classes only comprise of my pre-reqs, Calc I & II, and astronomy (I took this as my science requirement for my first go through college). I was thinking of taking a science class over the summer but since I need to travel for work over the summer the only viable option would be an online class.

So my question is would this class help me, by showing a diversity of classes on my transcript (it's a 200-level BIO course) or just make it seem like I'm looking for an easy grade (which, since I am familiar with the teacher, it would not be).

I'm pretty confident that if I keep my postbacc A- average and get in the 30's on my MCAT next spring/summer I'll get into a school, I just don't want to have anything else working against me other than my carefree teenage years.

What do you think?

(Sorry for the long post)

If it's any of the following, then it can't hurt:
- fun (as in, you think it'll be)
- molecular / cellular bio and/or biochem
- genetics
- microbio
- immuno
- physio
- neuro
- evo devo or dev bio (ie embryology)

Don't take the class if you don't feel a lot of enthusiasm for it. It won't have a significant impact on your odds, either way.

Best of luck to you.
