Plain and simple, it depends on what schools you're applying to... Some take them with no problem, some case by case, and some say NO if they're prereqs... However, (caveat) regardless of how the school feels about them, if they aren't prereqs, they can still improve your GPA, and they HAVE to be counted in your AMCAS. Johns Hopkins has online MS classes, so the tide is turning on this kind of thing... Personally, I am taking Biochem online, I will be taking parasitology, and pathology online, as well as virology, stats, and some other things... but again, none of them are prereqs... some courses have "reduced seat time" being that the course has no lecture, it's all online, and then you just go to campus for the lab... anyway, again, they can still help with your GPA, etc... so I say go for it... Oh, and AMCAS doesn't even have an option for saying it's an online class, so who's to know??? It doesn't say it on my transcript!
