i've looked through old posts and haven't seen any responses to this question...

i'm sitting down to study for step 2 CK and am trying to figure out what question bank to purchase. i failed step one so i need to do well on step two. can anyone please give me some thoughts on their experiences (or things that they have heard about the various options?).

thanks

hey, though i passed step 1, but score was pretty crappy. right now i'm planning to do qbook ck (850 questions) along w/ my rotations. might also get usmleworld to do only those questions related to each rotation.

Got my score on Step 2 CK two days ago. Got a 263 (99) 😀

I used usmleworld and went through every question while taking notes in First Aid. Then I reviewed the questions I got wrong. I spent the last 2 days going through my annotated FA

Good luck

Whoa, that's really weird. 9hoursofsleep, I got the exact same score (263), and I also just got my score 2 days ago. I was pretty damn excited about it since I didn't do as well on step 1. What really got me that score was USMLEWorld. I went through ALL of the questions and read through every answer and explanation. If you do all of USMLEWorld and have about half the questions correct, you should be able to at least pass step 2.

Great scores, both of you. So do you associate 90+% with rocking it (~263)?

You don't have to get 90% correct on USMLEWorld to rock step 2. I had an overall average of just 65% for all the questions, doing them with no repeats. I then went back and repeated some of the questions I got wrong. Check out the thread on USMLEWorld scores and step 2 scores. Almost no one gets over 75% of the questions correct (they are difficult and sometimes poorly worded, but the explanations are excellent). I think if you want to do well on step 2, USMLEWorld will definitely help.
