I am scheduled to take second semester physics over the summer as an online class. My university fully reopens this fall, so this summer still has at least half of the classes online and my section happens to be one of them. This will be my only prerequisite taken over the summer, will the fact that this class is online and over the summer hurt my chances, and will it count at most med schools? Thanks

this sounds super similar to what I am doing, just that I am doing both physics 1 and 2 back to back over the summer. I added three other courses and the lab so I have a full 18 credits this summer to make it a 'real' semester of college. If it is your only prereq over the summer I doubt it would raise too many questions. I will certainly count since it is a proper science course.

do you have any other classes you're taking, or just the physics? some other classes could help so that it doesn't seem like you took a 'weaker' load with physics. also check if your official transcripts say online or not. I don't think my school's do.

Yeah it’s going to be my only class for the summer, I wonder if any of the faculty on here could offer any advice on this matter? Thanks

I think the summer class stigma is non-applicable in your case. The real red flag comes when students choose to attend a different (normally community) college from their home institution in the hopes of getting an easier class/professor for the weedier courses. My state school is currently still only offering summer classes online with a return to full in-person teaching this fall. So don't worry, you are not alone.
