35P, 3.95GPA, BS in Biochemistry, minors in Spanish and Portuguese
80 hours shadowing, research experience at national laboratory, ran 2 marathons, humanitarian work in south america.

Johns Hopkins
University of Utah
University of Nevada
University of Colorado (Colorado Residency)
USUHS

Did I make a mistake in only applying to 5 because I see most people here are applying to over 20?

Should've added in more reach schools and also some matches. Why not Case, UPitt,Yale, HMS, Tufts, UMD, etc

I only applied to four schools and I got in. It can be done.

Ummm.. 80 hours shadowing? No local clinical volunteer work? If not, you may face some difficulties.

And as Klemptor has shown, yes it can be done. But you'd have to be willing to risk needing to apply again if you don't get in.

As a resident of Colorado, you will likely get an interview at CU.

Utah and Nevada will be tough to get interviews at based on your non resident status.

Do you want to be a military doctor? If so, USUHS is a good fit. If not, don't apply there.

Who knows with JHU. Good luck.

I would add a few more schools.

I really like your MDApps. Hardworking, independent medical students (that are female) really appeal to me. In a more primal way (you know what I mean...hehehe)

I'm kinda unnerved by this. Maybe I'm reading it wrong...

I can always add more schools and it's very early in the cycle. If not, u'll find about whether u applied to enough school by next cycle...

It's still very early in the cycle...why not find a job, make some money and add more schools?
