only got subsidized...should I consolidate?

I am a 1st year who has only $8500 in loans (AirForceHPSP). I also only plan on getting the subsidized each year(which doesn't matter). Would it be worth me consolidating this years 8500 now? Or is it not worth sacrificing the 6 month period at the end of it all?

1. You do NOT necessarily have to sacrifice your grace period.
2. I think it is worth it to consolidate now, but that's me.
