I've heard people say that for subjects like anatomy, biochem, and neuro (there may be others), that one only needs to know aht's in First Aid. This seems a bit unclear.

Doesthis mean:
1) Know all the TOPICS outlined in the first part of each topic section

-OR-

2) Know only what ACTUALLY WRITTEN in the brief section on a topic in First Aid?

It seems like the sections are too brief for more than just a few important bullet points, and nowhere near enough or enough detail to get you through on that small amount of info.

Can anyone comment on this?

Thanks for any help!

I actually thought the pharmacology section of FA was probably the most complete. Meaning, if you knew that section word-for-word you'd be able to get probably 90% of the pharm questions on the real thing.

Usually when people say, "know what is in FA" they mean memorize that section-what is actually written there.

Don't underestimate First Aid. It really contains a ton of information and takes a major effort to really get a good grasp of everything that's there.

When I tell people to know First Aid, I mean to understand the topics presented.

I say that if you memorize first aid word for word, there would be a lot of pathophysiology and mechanisms that you are missing. Pharm may be different. Everytime I went through first aid, I would learn something new... but it required reading about the topics more in depth in other books.

The best way to use First Aid is as a guide what what you'll kneed to study. You'll definitely need to have other sources to supplement your understanding.

Don't be under the false impression that if you study soley from FA, that you'll do well on Step 1.
