Hey Fellow Waitlisters,

Here's what I do for inspiration...do searches for over a year ago on people with only waitlists (search for multiple waitlists, no acceptances, only waitlists, etc...). Anyway, start in the beginning of such threads where you'll find person X who states, "Sh$% this sucks, I have Y # of waitlists but no acceptances." Then search for more posts by that same user for any date after the date they made this comment. MOST of the time that person will have ended up getting in somewhere....

Then if you get really bored look at past waitlist threads and find the latest dates someone got in (August acceptances are the best)

God I'm pathetic, I'm going back to my car to listen to old love songs and cry!!!

You should check out the No Acceptances Yet Club (NAYC) thread from last year. It's pretty inspiring that the vast majority of the members of that club ended up getting into medical school after joining. 🙂

I randomly came across this thread and thought I'd chime in...

I was rejected from 18 of the 21 schools I applied to and wait listed at the other 3. I re-visited one and sent an e-mail to each saying how much I liked their school (i.e., I didn't do anything over the top). Eventually I got into all 3 and it's not like these schools were safeties or anything like that.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst, and show some interest in each school. That's all you can do. From what I've seen, if you should get into med school, you do get into med school. Good luck!

I am losing hope.. I was waitlisted at all three schools I interviewed at and no acceptances yet. ::sighs:: I am submitting my AMCAS today and assuming the worst for now. I have sent multiple letters and called multiple times to my favorite school and also sent a letter of interest to the other two schools. I am thinking no medical school for me this year. 🙁

6 waitlists for me... no acceptances... also losing hope.

Will submit AMCAS on Friday or Monday hopefully.

Hope is kind of killing my motivation to work on my AMCAS application

A student tour guide i had at a Cali school said he was a re-applicant because he was waitlisted at that school the first time. He didn't do ANYTHING different for the second round of application except re-write the personal statement. Same references, same secondary essays, etc etc.

There is hope.

Okay I am really trying to keep some hope...2 interviews and 2 waitlists...but it is really hard. Doesn't it seem like this year a lot of schools aren't pulling as much from waitlists or at all? Or is this just a subjective feeling because of my not so quiet desperation? 😳

I feel the same way.. desperation sucks.... I am hoping that getting my application in the first week of June and all my secondaries by August will greatly increase my chances for acceptance next year. Last year I wasn't verified until the end of October and most of my secondaries were in Nov./Dec. which I think was the kiss of death for any acceptances, especially because I have a low PS score on my MCAT. Oh well hopefully next year. :/

I applied to 19 schools, interviewed at 2, waitlisted at 2, and then finally accepted at one.

Dont loose hope!

That is exactly where I am at, except for the acceptance of course! Hearing stories like this are really helpful. Thank you! Hope will live on!!🙂

Other than the big post-May15th movement, when do the waitlists start moving again (AKA when people get off waitlists at schools they'd rather go to)? Late June/July?
