For those who interviewed at Michigan, what do you think the odds are of gaining an acceptance? I'm just curious since I interviewed there in October. Can anyone give me any insight?
Thanks

No one exactly know how many OOS vs In-state they accept each year.... but the percentage of the class is about 60-70 students from Michigan and rest OOS....

That means about 30-40 students are OOS HOWEVER, these are OOS, which means they probably send out 60-70 OOS acceptances....Just guessing here

interviews are about 50/50 instate and out of state. probably even a bit more out of state just on pure statistics alone. michigan says that they dont look at residency until making the final decision, meaning residency doesnt play a role in getting an interview.

of course even though the chance of getting an interview is equal for everyone, oos interviewees will be at a slight disadvantage when its time to choose who gets in or not. this most likely explains why michigan has such a large percentage of OOS for a state school.
