This morning, I received a rejection from an OOS school that my girlfriend will be attending this fall. I am a 521/3.96 applicant, so my stats shouldn't have kept me out. I really wanted to go there, and my secondaries demonstrated that. I also got a letter of rec from an alumna and wrote about how much I respected that alumna as an exemplary physician in my secondary. I also toured the school before I wrote the secondary so that I could write about the campus and the way that I felt when I was there. I thought that I did everything on my secondary to demonstrate that I really wanted to go there, but it seems to me that they didn't even read my secondary because I am an out of state applicant. They heavily accept in state over out of state.
Is there any way that they would ever take back a rejection? If I email their admissions office with a letter of intent of going there, would they ever reconsider? Thank you.
Also, could that physician who wrote me a letter of rec do anything? Or my girlfriend who will be a student there in August?
Unlikely as they already made their decision. There is nothing that that physician, your girlfriend, or a LOI can do. You even said yourself that that heavily take in-state, which may have been been a factor.
Did you interview, or was this after the secondary?
