If it's a closed file interview, then how do they know if you are qualified or have met the standards?

Thanks in advance.

In a closed file interview, you have already been deemed a viable candidate, since you've passed both of their min academic requirements such as gpa, OAT score, and non-academic requirements such as LORs before the interview. In a completely closed file interview, the interviewers know nothing about you except your name.

That is not necessarily always true. Some schools will have the interviewers read your essays prior to the interview.
