I'm beginning my med school journey by looking into possible methods of doing a DIY postbac for all of the prerequisites.

I'm leaning towards a DIY postbac as opposed to a formal program to save money.

The state school near me offers open enrollment for those that want to take classes here and there where you pay per unit. They also have the option to apply as a 2nd degree seeking student where I have priority in signing up for classes and have access to all resources on campus.

Does anyone have any feelings one way or another or just general advice for this situation? I am 4 years out of college with a social science degree, so no science classes taken, starting fresh as a career changer.
