Ohio State has open house May 21st. I was planning to go, but it is 9 AM to 4 PM and I know I will have orphaned wildlife to care for. I live 3 hours from OSU so I'd be gone from 6 AM to 7 PM and my babies can't go that long without eating. I could possibly work something out with Ohio Wildlife Center which is nearby to leave them there and stop by at lunch or something to feed them, but that is gonna be a major hassle and take up at least an hour and a half and my guess is lunch isn't that long.
My main question is how important do you think going to an open house is? It will be a major feat to be able to go and plus it is a Saturday and I just started my job as a vet assistant and I work Saturday and Sunday and don't have vacation time. I could probably get the day off, though.
If you go to open house, do you have to stay from 9-4 or is it set up so you can come and take a tour anytime that day and just kinda walk through.
I have never been to a college open house or taken a tour of any college, how weird is that? Everyone always goes looking at colleges to see where they want to go, but I went Post secondary so the choice was made because I had to go to the closest school and since I finished 3 years in my last 2 years of high school and only had one year to go, I stayed at that college. So, never been to any college other than the local 4 year college and the community college. And both schools are small.
I have seen Ohio State before, though, we did a little tour on our 7th grade school trip called the Ohio tour. All I remember is that the place was HUGE!
Do you guys think I should make the effort (it will be a major effort and pain in the butt to get all the creatures loaded up in the car and then unloaded at the wildlife center since I usually have 20+ babies (squirrels, opossums, cottontails, songbirds, groundhogs, you name it 🙂 plus if I have tiny opossum babies, they will need to be fed every 3 hours, so I'd have to leave a lot)? I am hoping to get into Ohio State, it is my number 1 choice. I don't think anything could change my opinion other than if everyone was jerks (which I am guessing even if they were they wouldn't act like it at open house). I am not much of a scenery person, don't care what the buildings look like, and I already know how the weather is.
