Hello! Looking at a few research papers, and many of them address surgical site infections. I am working with the NSQIP data base which breaks down SSI into different categories (organ space SSI, superficial SSI, etc). Does anyone know what most researchers are referring to when they just use SSI?

I am looking at organ space SSI, and want to make the lit review is congruent. I know I can just email the authors if need be, just didn't know if I was missing something in the parlance.
