Simple question.. which is more correct for for a class I preparation? Left or right?

Neither. The left has better angles but doesn't have retention. Right has a bit of an undercut but not smooth walls.

Also your material choice drives your prep form. Gold, composite, amalgam?

gut instinct goes with left, but i concur that material choice would help answer the question.
