I'm hosting a Q&A on the ophthalmology job market with my colleague on June 8th at 3pm ET for residents. We will continue to do this throughout the year and plan to discuss different topics on the front end of each session followed by open questions thereafter. As part of the registration, we ask for questions which will help guide the next session.

The information will be geared toward a first job search. If we detect there is real interest for this from experienced doctors, we can do one for them.

(to answer everyone's first question: no, I do not still have that stache, it was a joke for a friend's wedding, and we just happened to be redoing company headshots the week before)

What about inexperienced doctors? 🤣 Like those recently board certified.

How much is my scalp worth? 🤔 Ouch!!!

Once you see your first patient as an attending, you're now "experienced". Come on, market yourself a little.

I interviewed at possibly the worse residency program. One person there claimed they were the best residency in the country! It actually highlighted the issue. They should have just said they were "pretty good".
