ophtho elective

Would it be too late to do an ophtho elective in august? it seems to be cutting it close with LORs, and late to be starting research, but i'm afraid i may get stuck with it then. thanks.

I think august is really late for your first ophthalmology elective. You need time to develop relationships with faculty mentors and to obtain good LORs.
