hi all, so i'm a prelim ophtho intern (starting in july and can't wait to be done with internal medicine and its wards!!!!) but anyway, was asked to do a presentation on 'what internists need to know about the eye' - i was thinking of doing something along the lines of when to consult and when not to......any ideas on what i should put in? thanks!!

A good option for such an audience is a basic red eye lecture. You can just cover the differential (most commons) of a red eye and how to discriminate the serious from more benign. It will help them and you (as a future ophtho call monkey!). I've done such a lecture on a few occasions. It will be a good one to hold on to. I was able to use it as chief resident for a resident orientation lecture.
