Hi all,

So I had this question and It would be great if you can share your opinion or judgement with me coz I know you all are well experienced.

Whattt are my chances of Getting in Dental School? if,

I have overall GPA 3.92
Science GPA 3.94
but out of my 112 credits 74 were taken at Community College due to some financial troubles and since having not been in US for longer time.(3 years only so far).

I also have Dentistry Experience,
Research in Cancer,
many scolarship and awards
Part of international honor society.
Math Tutoring for 1.5 years

My school choices are:
Temple University
Upenn

Taking DAT on 20th july, My best guess is that I will at least get 19 AA.

It's kind of hard to give advice because I'm not sure of the specific policies of the schools you're interested in. Some schools don't accept community college courses at all (Tufts), while others take a limited amount of community college credits. Just make sure to get similar grades at a four year institution to show that your grades from that community college weren't a fluke. Your DAT is also a way of showing this. My best advice is to call the schools you are interested in and ask them. You could even swing by their website. Good GPA by the way.

I know that temple only allows 6 community college credits (2009 ADEA Guide). I don't know about the other schools though.

Personally, I can't answer this question until I see your DAT scores. You need solid scores to validate that high GPA. Get 20+ on all sections of the exam, and you'll have a decent chance of getting in this year.
However, I do have a piece of advice for you. If possible, try to take more units at a 4 year institution. 74 out of your 112 units were taken at CC, which means you only had 38 units completed at a four year institution. This will most likely have a negative impact on your application. I know this for a fact, because last year UNLV rejected me for the same reason. When I called their admission coordinator, she told me that the primary reason for their decision was that I didn't have sufficient number of units completed at UCLA (my undergrad school). I managed to take few more classes at UCLA and address the issue, which is why I'm encouraging you to do the same.
