Hello,

I just finished my re-take of DAT and I got (20 PAT, 20QR, 20 RC, 19 Biology, 22 GC, 19 OC // TS 20 and AA 20).
The problem is that I have improved a bit from each sections from my first DAT so my overall TS and AA did not changed at all.

I have already submitted my application for these schools:
NYU
UPenn
Boston University
University of Pacific
Western University
University of Minnesota
Temple University
Case Western Reserve University
University of Pittsburgh
Roseman
USC
Nova
University of Maryland
Detroit Mercy
University of Buffalo (SUNY)

Do I still have any shot at these universities?

My GPA is 3.5 (upward trend), couple research opportunities, 200 shadowing hours, -1000hrs volunteering.
I am an international applicant so I am worried. (Canadian)
Should I just withdrawal my app? (like not doing supplemental application since it will be waste of money)

I am so worried now and can't think what to do..

Thanks a lot in advance.

You have a 3.5 and a 20 AA, which are the stats of the avg dental matriculant. Not sure why you are worried. You'll be fine.

Thanks for the reply.
I am worried because I am international student..

my lab partner, who is a international from cambodia (3.5 GPA, 21AA, 21TS, 23 PAT) only got in USC on dec, and mwu-il from waitlist and roseman from waitlist. He applied to a lot.

Although Canadians are international they seem to have slightly higher chance than other international applicants.

If I were you I would not withdraw my application. Your DAT scores are good. The rest of your application is good too.
I just read that you are an international student... Well, I would call the schools and ask. I would also read the 2015- 2016 Official Guide to Dental school to see how many international students were accepted into the schools, and according to all that I would make my decision.

Good luck.

UDM will suck you in. They kind of do that sort of thing and take pride in it. Sorry I don't agree with their practice of this, but should get an interview just be patient.

Are you Canadian applicant? Is my stat competitive as an international student?

I am not a canadian appicant. I just am instate with UDM and have met with them numerous times. They tout themselves as the 10th? canadian school or whatever, because they accept almost as much as other canadian offerings. Stat wise I would stay you're right in the middle, which generally means a good chance. Not sure how many canadians apply so I can't help you out with the application pool from that, but based off of everything else you'd be right in the middle of the overall pool. A well written letter of intent could always help your odds with that. Being in contact with Dr. Jeffers wouldn't help either.
