hey guys... first time posting. I just took the DATs and was wondering if you guys think my scores are good enough to get into a dental school. This is my second time taking it. The first time i applied to 19 schools and got rejected 19 times. Im wondering of my chances of getting in this year.

First time around DAT scores (studied for 1 week... thought kaplan class was sufficient enough for good scores... i was wrong)

AA 18
PAT 15
QR 17
RC 21
Bio 17
GChem 18
OChem 15
total science 17

Second time around (cooked in a hole for freaking 4 months studying)
AA 20
PAT 16
QR 16
RC 21
Bio 23
Gchem 21
Ochem 18
total science 21

Any input would be great, thanks

forgot to mention that my overall gpa is 3.1 (biology major) and my science is around 2.7
I shadowed a dentist for one summer
i participated in research
and i joined a loser dentist club (the club wasnt even worth the time)

i'd add nova
i was gonna add nova, but the thing is i received a C- in one of my physics class... nova requires u to have a 2.0 in all your classes. And my university won't allow you to take a class over if you have a C-. If i decided to take the class over again for credit, it'll be too expensive as well as too late. 🙁

ouch...they let us take whatever we want again....they just put both grades on the transcript.....are you sure its going to be too late....try calling them and telling them about this and ask them if its alright or not...they might let it happen as long as you get a 2.0 in all your sciences courses BEFORE matriculation....the expensive part though, I don't know about that, its something to think about i guess...i wish you the best of luck...

Do you know if this 2.0 minimum applies to any other schools other than NOVA?

wow, good job. I have no doubt you'll get in at the very least one or two places...especially your own state school

I would be lucky as hell if i got into my own state school... too bad i live in freakin southern cali where the competition is cut throat.... the admission committee of UCLA, UCSF,UOP, or USC should pity the f*#k for me

Funny, I was going to add "unless you live in california" to my statement that you should get into your own state school... 😛 sorry to hear that bro...I live in new york where I think its a pretty much shoe in from what I hear...one of my older friends go into buffalo with a 15 or 16 overall...and the only reason his overall was that high was because he got like a 27 on perceptual ability...this was 5 or 6 years ago...suffice to say, he dropped out of dental school after his first semester and is now a high school math teacher...but still..

He must have been my math teacher then because I only got a 14 on QR!!!

rejected 19x...wow...
did u get any interviews first time around?
