Hey Guys,

I am sending out my AADSAS tomorrow, i know its late but life is rough. Anyways I wanted your opinion on my school selection. I have 3.4 Overall GPA, and 3.3 Science. 21AA, 17PAT. I am applying to these schools.

Uconn, Indianna, BU, Tufts, UMichigan, Columbia, NYU, SUNY Buffalo, Case Western, Ohio State, UPenn, Temple, UMarlyand, UPitt, UNC

Are there any that is out of the question and I should not even bother with? Or do I have an alright chance at most of these schools. The reason for so many schools is I do not want to risk not getting accepted. Rather waste 1 grand now, than waste 700 dollars, then another 700 next year.

I think you will get into most schools. Thats just my opinion.

so i am trying to narrow the list down ...

i have cut out indianna they have crazy req. and case western...

I want to reduce the # of safety schools from the 4 (Tufts, Temple, NYU, BU) to 3. I am thinking about cutting NYU, what you guys think?

i think your scores are high, and gpa high...you are in great shape, you should narrow down the entire list to fewer schools...save the money for the interviews..they will come. and id say cut the school you dont want to attend the most.

You have an excellent shot at the private schools, and any of the state schools in the state of your residence.

You do have a chance at the out-of-state public schools, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money though, particularly at the ones known to give preference to in-staters (Buffalo, OSU, UNC and UMB).

I think most schools are going to want to know what you got on the Spelling section of the DAT.

i'd cut nyu...
...i know they interview until very late.
..u can add them later if needed

leave the others..
u dont have to interview at every program
also osu does accept more than a few out of staters..


make a list of your favs from #1 to whatever..
...and then start the 'cutting' once u start getting your acceptances..

Why cut Case? I think you have a good shot there, and as others have said, you probably have a better chance at some of the private schools as state schools usually assign preference to their residents.

Read the thread "NYU Dental Questions". It seems to me from reading that, that people are saying they are one of the easiest schools to get into. Also, since I live in Cleveland, I heard from many students that Case Western will be a little easier since it is a private school. From reading the many forums on this site, it just seems to me that temple U is very competitive. Not sure about Tufts.....Hope this gives a little more insight.
