Opinions about additional fees

I applied to NYU, BU, USC, and SIU. I have an interview with SIU. The other 3 schools sent me letters requesting additional application fees. What does this really mean? Are they interested in me or does everyone have to pay these addditional fees for them to really look at your application? What does everyone think?

Most if not all schools have a secondary application fee. Don't read into it too much, everyone pays it.

Some schools send the sec apps to EVERYONE and wants their $$, others send to only those they are interested in interviewing. Good luck!
