Hi All,

Wanted to see what people's opinions of Belmont University were from current and prospective students.

All opinions welcome good, bad, and ugly.

Please do not turn it into a MOT vs OTD debate though please.

Belmont University's MSOT and OTD programs are equally great. The faculty is very knowledgable and will go the extra mile to make sure that you are successful. The only con is the high tuition.

I'm gonna just throw the bomb: OTD? Why ask why. 🙂

Average tuition for California non-state school is 90k-ish. Belmont is 130k. The price per year is for all intensive purposes is the same. OTD provides me the opportunity to explore emerging areas (which will not be covered in a generalist education) like adaptive power mobility for children, the chance to explore advocacy for under or non funded areas of OT, and while the benefits for working directly as OT are similar to a MSOT or MAOT, the opportunity to change the field and expand the opportunity for insurance coverage for all in need matters to me. I am an alternative path student who left a lucrative position to make a difference in people's lives. Despite what general capitalism theory teaches I am not concerned with making money nor the debt. Your salary alone will provide you with a comfortable life but multiple revenue streams outside of your salary are better options: full contributions to your ROTH IRA, REITS, DRIP on dividends, real estate investments, a diversified stock portfolio, as well a a diverse financial portfolio including CD's (tiered), stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments will provide for the lifestyle I require.😉
