Opinions on returning to US after University of Glasgow

I'm very much considering the University of Glasgow vet school. I was wondering for those who attended:
1) Did you find the extra year (5 instead of 4) was an advantage, disadvantage, or neither?
2) Was anything difficult about practicing in the states after studying vet med abroad?
