Heya, this is for me and other canadians considering the US as an option...

Right now, I've got something in the neighbourhood of 3.55 as my gpa, and my mcat score is 35Q (12 12 11 Q).

Sooo, now that you all know my deep and dark academic secrets, any direction on which "range" of schools I should focus on would be great.

I'm not a student anymore, have two degrees, and am working as an engineer right now. Not much time for volunteering and research. =(

Apply to all the tiers of schools. Your stats are fine, how about your letters of rec and your extra curriculars? If those are fine I would focus on the middle and top tier schools especially every school in the area within a days drive of where you live. Maybe apply to about 15 schools.
