Is anyone aware of any opportunities for alternative sources of income (other than clinical work) using the medical degree?

What I'm talking about are things that you can do in your spare time (at home, etc): medical writing, medical consulting, something along these lines, that doesnt require face-to-face time with patients, but requires some basic medical knowledge or expertise.

i don't know about spare time, but working in healthcare consulting or at a health care focused hedge fund is a possibility.
