Is it relatively easier to get into an opthalmology program in texas as a texas resident?

Can someone also list the number of programs in opthalmology in the state of texas, and the number of ppl they accept.

Thanks in Advance,

At UT Houston we take 3 per year...good surgical volume, soon to be new Medical Tower and the new home to the Eye Center along with dedicated Surgical suites.

In my class, two from out of state, one in state. Med schools represented UAB, Baylor, Brown.

Go to this website and select your search criteria (ie, Ophthalmology and Texas)---http://www.ama-assn.org/vapp/freida/srch/

It will give you some info on all the Texas programs and provides links to some of the programs' websites. You can use the info that you get on there to do google searches for the programs for which links are not provided.

Hope this helps.
