Hey guys/gals,
I read that in the near future optometrists will be able to practice as opthamologists and opticians as optometrist. Assuming this is true, would it be financially better to become an optician rather than an optometrists. Is 4 years of schooling + 150k in debt worth a stable $60000/yr after graduation ?
Who knows what might happen in the future, but the odds are it may be bad since already we are observing a glimpse into the destruction of the proffesion as new schools open, tuition fees increase and salaries decline.
