Optional Books

This question is for current DPT students: how important is it to buy those optional (but strongly recommended) books? Is it different for each class? Also, how many of you are APTA members?

Buy as few books at possible. Textbooks are outdated as soon as they come out. My library has copies of the recommended and optional books in the library and online. I regret buying most of the books I have bought, but not all. Some classes don't have any recommended/optional books and only course notes. I am an APTA member because I think it matters.
