I was wondering if anyone had been considering the MD route in the caribb. I think it is an interesting route but I guess I'm concerned with my family and being away from them for 2 years. Then having to find rotations where I can be near them. I suppose this is just one of the options you have when you get frustrated of waiting. Any of you non-trads have an experience with this?

It's a viable option if you truly have no US alternatives, and if you are not keen on competitive specialties. But a lot of doors won't be as open to you, so it's a harder road and you probably won't have as many choices come residency time. So the question you probably have to ask yourself is, are your stats close enough that it makes sense to shoot for a US option (even if it takes a couple more years) or so far gone that you have to take whatever route will get you to the career you want?
