"Do you want to waive your right of access to this letter of recommendation? "

If I say "Yes" or "No" would it affect my admissions? I know if I say "yes" then I will not be able to view the letter of reccomendation, unless I request a copy from the sender. If I say "No" then I will be able to view the letter at anytime w/o requesting a copy from the sender. Please help anyone and let me know what is the best option for me.

I"ll be applying to Midwestern, ICO, IAUPR, MCPHS, OSU, SCCO, SCO, SUNY, WUCO and UHCO. Would it affect admissions to these schools?

Waive your right, because then it looks more legit to the schools. I doubt it will have a major influence on your application but I would do it just to be safe. That's what my professors told me to do and then they just let me read the letter anyway.

I second this advice (albeit second-hand): I was told the same thing by someone going to ICO next year. He did NOT waive his right and then it came up (with some suspicion) in the interviews.

You waive your right if you want to show you trust the person writing the LOR and aren't scared of what they will say about you. All my recommenders emailed me a copy of the letter before sending it anyways.

Btw if you need to ask a question about every little thing about the application how will you make it through your interview if you get to that stage? Use your own gut feeling and don't over think so much.

Thank you so much everyone for the replies. It's crazy how there are so many views on a post, and only a few reply. I waived it 🙂
