I was wondering how current Optomerists would rate their job satisfaction; both in terms of professional and personal satisfaction.

Necro-bump time. I came upon this thread in researching Optometrist job satisfaction. I'm unable to find any formal survey postings, though there's this ongoing formal survey. The average satisfaction given there, out of 23 ratings at the time of this writing, is 2.0 out of 4; this is about slightly below middle-of-the-pack compared to all other jobs MyPlan has information on, and particularly low for the entry barrier.
