optometry in 10 yrs..please read ASAP!~!!!

i was just wondering...for those of you who have been on interviews...have you been asked "where do u see the field of optometry in 10 yrs or just the future in general???????"

anyone care to share their responses??????

You should perhaps do a little research on the topic to find where YOU think the future of optometry will be headed. Think about how big chain retailers will affect the profession, or whether or not the addition of new optometry schools will be of benefit. Also, think about what rights optometrists have gained in the past decades and how far along the profession has evolved (i.e. being able to treat certain diseases, prescribe medication, and even performing laser procedures). Do you think the profession has potential to grow even further as it has in the past or do you think it has plateaued? If you have done any shadowing, I would suggest you ask current optometrists to gain more insights on their thoughts on the subject.

OP, if every1 on this forum were to say that salaries would be tripled, in 10 years, would you enroll into optometry school ? Honest question.

Think about aspects such as insurance, technology and how that can impact optometry.
