I notice that no one talks about the optometry school in Montreal...any reason besides it being in French? Does everyone steer clear of this university?
The program at Univerity of Montreal is exclusively for those who are fluent in French From my classmates at Waterloo that actually are bilingual, none applied to Montreal because after a few years of university in English, they were concered that it would be far to difficult to start anew with a language different from what they used to learn their pre-optometry material.
i would think that the textbooks are mostly in english though, since it is costly to translate them (they do this in the french Med schools here). And couldnt you write the board exam in english too?

You can choose to write the Canadian boards in either english or french. A uniqueness about graduating from UofM is that you don't need to pass the canaidian board exams in order to practice in Quebec. A large majority of UofM grads don't write the canadian boards because they want to practice exclusively in Quebec for their entire careers.
