Anyone have experience with this PBM? OptumRx is formerly Prescription Solutions with locations in California and Kansas. It's United health care's in-house PBM. I always heard that working for mail order is pretty nice because of the hours (reg working hours 9-5pm and no weekends) and not having to deal with angry patients. However, it seems like it could be more unstable. I heard about a Medco call center shutting down in Dallas, so I'm not really sure if this is a good way to go.

I'm a recent grad looking to keep my options open. I currently have a position in retail but I just don't know if see myself working retail forever. Pretty soon I may get burnt out like so many out there.

I heard they might be hiring more pharmacists later this year here in Sugarland, TX, where they recently opened. Just wanted to see if there were any thoughts on working for PBMs, this one in particular.

Thanks

I am a patient of OptumRx (like you said use to be Prescription Solutions) and they seem like a really great company. Anything and everything I need they take care of. Have had no issues with them. Seems like a good company to work for.

I am in Sugarland, too! Small world.

I used to work at OptumRx in sugar land, I went back to retail because it was too boring and monotonous. and last I heard, they are fully staffed. Nice hours but I could not sit 8 hours a day. Most rphs there are really nice but there is a couple of rphs with sticks up their butt that will **** on your day

I want a cushy job too but my only fear is being bored to death and watching each tick on the clock goes by.

I currently work in the Irvine, CA office. Pretty cushy job and I find that it keeps me challenged enough. People I work with are great. I definitely don't regret leaving retail to come here.
