Hello guys and girls..
I am a 1st year dental student in Australia doing ?Oral Biology?. The book we are currently using is called ?Oral Anatomy, Histology and Embryology? by Berkovitz and Holland. Personally I don?t like the book and I?m having a little bit of trouble. 🙁 Now to my question, are there any books you guys would recommend? Or maybe even a website. I tried looking on the net but no help so far. Also do you guys in the States do ****loads of histology and how did everyone find that?
Thanks for all the input.. 🙂 👍

We used Oral Development and Histology by Avery and Oral Histology by Ten Cate. I'd recommend Avery with which I'm more familiar, but Ten Cate is a well known and referenced text. We do quite a bit of histo here - a semester of General Histo and semester of oral histo. They were interesting but difficult. I've used quite a bit of oral histo in research, but I'd guess if you're not into research the usefulness of general/oral histo may be more limited.

As the others have said, we used Oral Histology by Ten Cate here at UNC.

The latest version of the Ten Cate is written by Antonio Nanci, a professor at University of Montr?al.

Thanks guys.. I am trying to get "Oral Histolgy" Ten Cate one.. It sounds like a good book..

Don't totally ditto the Berkovitz book. It has good pix & stuff. Make sure u look at it, as most of your test will come from it.

Have fun with oral bio.

Oh no i wasnt going to totally ditch it.. Your right it does have good pics but I just dont like the way its written.. But I guess no book is perfect.. Hey in the states.. Is Oral Bio a 1st yr subject?
