Passed the writtens now on to the Orals. Probably going to take a prep course to get in the swing of answer oral questions again. Any thoughts on Osler versus The Pass Machine? Enough of a difference to choose one or the other?

I can't speak to any other course. I can only say I found the Osler good for me. You hear so numerous amounts of oral exam scenarios. If you do the Osler, I would discourage the "extra"/individual sessions. While you do an individual/private session, you are not getting the benefit of observing the numerous scenarios going on in the group. That's all I have on this.

The Pass Machine is new, so no real track record.

Osler obviously has been around a long time and I've heard the same comments from others that JAD gives - don't do the individual tutoring.

Another option is Odyssey - former Osler course instructor; its the one I took.

the best prep is to review "board style" scenarios. some people call these "old questions" either way- there are TONS of previously asked scenarios floating around. nobody can admit to really stockpiling or compiling this type of information though since the ABS prohibits reproducing the exam in any way shape or form- including writing stuff down from memory.
thats the best prep. theres only a finite amount of scenarios they can realistically ask.

osler helps because it helps you feel better about yourself when some of the other "less well-prepared" candidates get up to do their mock orals. ie- if THAT guy goes before me, I'll be a superstar!
