I am not a physician my husband is. His orals are in a month! He preps by reading from "big red" I want him to take courses or prep in more drastic ways. Any advice on what really helped you? Or names of places with courses? In southern California.
if he's good speaker and can logically defend a decision under duress, then continue reading big red til test day
if he's not a good speaker, get a partner and practice saying out loud as much as possible with sample exams starting today.
Do practice exams
Read Yao and Artusio - it is phrased in the "I would X, because Y" style that helps on boards
Do more practice exams
Read Board Stiff Two (Three isn't as good IMHO)
Do some more practice exams
Practice with whomever will listen. I loved Ultimate Board Prep. It can be challenging to coordinate practicing with other busy physicians/Fellows. You can the read question, verbalize the answer to yourself and then compare your response to UBPs.
