How long do you wait to do urgent(but not emergent) surgery, after a patient had oral contrast?

theres a thread about this somewhere. the general consensus is that barium in the lungs is not good, you should wait 8 hours.

gastrograffin aspiration, as an aside, is probably a death sentence
