Hi

I've been asked to help someone understand a report by a radiologist that is in a language they don't speak. I've got a sentence that I think means that something "is located X cm orally before the anal verge". What would 'orally' mean here, or is it perhaps a typo?

Many thanks!

I think they mean X cm “above” the anal verge, as in closer to the head/oral cavity of the GI tract.
