I find reading the orange book to be rather confusing.

Say you get a script for Cardizem LA. Can you give any generic formulation of diltiazem? I get that you can't give Tiazac for Cardizem, but do you need to give a specific manufacturer out for the generic?

Sure, give any generic formulation! Why even have an Orange Book at all? Just like if you get a script for Lopressor you can give any generic metoprolol formulation.
