Im a dentist from australia preparing for the ORE part 1 component.
I anyone has any additional information, notes, guidance i would appreciated it! Also, if there are any other felow aussies sitting the exam- do yu know if we still have to sit the ielts component?

I am probably not the best person to comment on ORE since I sat IQE part 1 then the transitory exam ORE part 1b and later on ORE 2. For ORE 1 I believe its best to stick to review books. BUt I managed all in first attempt and that too with my masters so I guess these tips have helped me
Regarding books.... Dont go back to your text books like guyton (physiology) etc. I read BRS (Board review series) for basic sciences, patho n all. Do consult anatomy atlas while preparing it does help a lot. For Microbiology thebook in the recommended book list is good.. Samaranaikae. really dont know ow to spell it 🙂 Even for physiology the book in the list i.e by Van der sherman, Luciano is great for building concepts. But I loved BRS physiology the most.
and for clinical sciences that problem solving in dentistry by odell. People read Master Dentistry too but i never had time to read that. I have heard its useful. i cant even recall what was there in OREoart 1 (b) 🙂 . it was such a chaos when i sat for the exam i just read what i thought is useful but when i reached UK and met my friend who was also sitting for the exam she said i have read all the irrelevant stuff. So not sure if these books are in reality the right books or not 🙂 I read oxford book on restorative dentistry too. The ethics and stuff my friend helped me prepare a day before the exam. U also try to contact someone who is settled in UK they really have good handouts and notes.

I wrote to the GDC and they told me there is no set time of the yr that it is offered, they just schedule it whenever is convenient for the examiners, so it can be any time and I am not sure how many times a year they offer it.
If anyone has more info, I would be grateful 😀
