If I have taken Pre-cal before and wanna take it in the summer alongside ORG 2 which I have never taken before and plan to receive all A's, would it even be doable to take them both in the same summer session. I would separate them into two summer sessions but my first summer session is already full, and I will not be able to wait until fall for other reasons. So pretty much, I'd have to wait till spring if need be, but by then I'd have to wait to apply to PHARM school after another year. So pretty much I try it or wait it out, but I think I wanna try it...as crazy and unimaginable as it is, is there any way to ace pre-cal and org 2 in the same summer session? Any advice, comments, and suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

I'm not sure about every school but most don't require pre-calc... just calc 1 and maybe calc 2. You don't need to take pre-calc to do well in calc either. Just my opinion.

In my school, They said you just need Trig in order to move on to Calculus.

Same with the trig thing for me. If precalc is a prereq for calc 1, can you maybe take it online?

Ultimately, yes its possible to do the two in the same semester, precalc is high school level math anyways. And i found ochem 2 easier than o chem 1. And you dont need all As to get into pharm school either.

But all A's does look good. I'd say, if you don't need it as a pre-req, don't take it. If you are really good at Pre-cal and want to boost your GPA, try to aim for a B+ or A when you are taking it.

Well at the school I'm applying to, it isn't a pre-req, but since I got a C on it its on my transcript and is affecting my overall GPA. Should I still retake?

If it's not a prereq then I wouldn't even think about retaking it (unless you think you need a better understanding of the material to do well in calc). And I'd go as far as to say that a good understanding of trig is probably more important than precalc. Just take Calc 1, bust your rear end and make sure you get an A. That will more than make up for a C in precalc.

I'd like to add, If you don't have a real good MATH gpa, I'd suggest a re-take.

Well I am currently in Calculus 1 and looking at a low A or a high B...I was just gonna take pre-cal again cause I didn't want them to think bad of me at the interview and ask my why I have a C, so I thought I should just retake.

Same here.

Do not retake. If it's not required (and even then), I would not suggest retaking it. Also, if you took Ochem II in the Spring, why would that set you back a year in terms of applying to Pharm school?😕 I took 3 required courses this Spring semester and I am already accepted.

Dude, I'm not sure if you're misinformed or what, but having 1 C on your transcript will NOT hurt your chances of getting accepted. Hell, having 2 Cs will not even hurt your chances either, and I doubt 3 Cs would. Now if your transcript consisted of mainly Cs then that would be a different story, but 1 C in Pre-Calc will not hurt you especially if you're gonna get a better grade in Calculus (the required course for most). Many people on SDN have gotten accepted with more than 1 Cs.😉

Oh wow well I am definitely gonna apply. I heard that if you apply for pharmacy school you need to have all the classes required by the time you apply, therefore since I'm applying for fall 2012 I need to have them all done by this upcoming fall semester?

You can apply before all of your classes are complete. Pharmcas has a place for planned courses. You just need to have the prereqs completed by the time you'd start pharmacy school. Try to have them all done by the end spring 2012 semester, so you can enjoy your summer before pharmacy school begins.
