what are you guys using to practice orgo? I feel like destroyer is overkill and not sure if it's sufficient (many breakdowns say that). So as for practice, besides destroyer what are some useful resources for practicing (besides bootcamp and qvault im saving those until after i feel confident with the material) 😎

Theres the odyssey...which is def overkill but it is GREAT for focusing on your weaker orgo areas.

im not looking for overkill...some destroyer problems are way beyond of what we need for the DAT i think. I have seen many people who scored very well on the test saying that they could've scored as well without wasting time on destroyer. I don't know...what do you think?

Why is that a bad thing? I would rather be over prepared than thinking, "i should be good to go."

Overkill or not, Destroyer is the best study source for organic.

You can always google free MCAT chemistry questions. I forget where, but there was one website with orgo questions that were pretty straightforward stuff, really similar to chad's. I think it was prep101 or something.

I don't think its necessarily overkill, I went to Destroyer right after Chads and damn right I got a bunch wrong, but writing out the solution and learning why the answer is right and referring to any sources such as Chads notes or your orgo books kind of teaches you along the way. Now I'm not sure if my opinion is completely correct because I have yet to take my DAT (11 Days) but I have gained a great deal of Ochem knowledge

thank you guys..i am going through destroyer at the moment so i guess i will continue to do so for now

i agree destroyer is overkill...i managed a 29 in OC and i attribute it all to Chad's and bootcamp. Destroyer saved me on one question.

what did you use to practice OC beisdes chads and bootcamp? how did you study for it?

I first went through destroyer...but i felt it was too much and wasn't that representative of my test. Other than that I just made sure i knew all of chad's reactions, did his quizzes, bootcamp, 2007 and 2009 ada tests were very important imo. The OC section isnt that difficult compared to the practice material out there...and i feel a lot of it is a not representative and a waste of time...

i didnt like destroyer all too much. I made a 25 using chads vids, quizzes, and bootcamp. I think qvault has a free exam, but i ran out of time. I memorized all of chads reactions. I also used odyssey a little bit for my weak points but that about it.

I wouldn't call destroyer overkill. It may not be the most representative of the actual DAT in format, but I think it's necessary for a high score for sure. Not my best section at 24, but in my opinion is very worthwhile to do destroyer because some of those pesky little details that trip you up on questions can appear on the real DAT whereas I don't think Chad's quizzes have as many of those tricky things. That being said, not even destroyer covers everything. I got a question about a reaction not on the roadmap and only half remembering it from ochem lab a few years ago saved me
