is it possible to read, understand and complete the practice problems in the whole Organic chemistry as a 2nd language book in 1 day? (12 hours)?

What are other books that are better in consolidating Organic chemistry 2 material into 1 quick and nice read?

Absolutely not. Typical brains don't work that way. And out of the books that I've had, the Organic Chemistry as a Second Language was simply the best.

If your lecture was like mine, I bet you could do it in 12 hours.... You won't learn everything as well as you need to, but it can be done... However, our lecture did not cover mass spec and IR - that was covered in our lab ( I think that's about 2 or 3 chapters of the o chem second language book). But maybe leave some practice problems undone so that you can come back to them and do them a few hours after you've read that section/chapter.

I did it in two days... with a total of 5 hours of sleep in total but I also took a lot of procrastination breaks >_> If you studied hardcore, you could probably do it in 12 hrs. Personally I really think it saved my butt on my final! And it's by far the best Orgo supplement I've seen.

But I had also studied pretty hard for each of my tests throughout the semester so it was more of a review. If you kept up, reading the book and doing the problems in such a short amount of time can help tremendously. But if you're relying on this to learn/understand the material for possibly the first time, 12 hrs may not be enough time. Again, this depends on how much you kept up throughout the semester, how many practice problems you've done, and how Orgo-inclined you naturally are 🙂

I also skipped the IR/NMR stuff (~50 pgs) b/c that was covered in lab and not on our class final. Since you're pressed for time, use the book to study smartly. Skip the practice problems (you can still read the sections to get a clearer understanding) for concepts you've got down pretty well and do the problems/read the sections for materials you really don't understand. Good luck!
