Organic Chemistry Question

Could someone please explain these two questions to me? Why is it that in the first question formaldehyde (CH2O) is the least acidic but in the second question it is the most reactive with a very strong base like the grignard base? These questions are from Chad's quizzes by the way. Thank you~
