The past two days I have sat down to study organic chem from my Kaplan BB, but i have lost interest quickly due to the dryness of the material. Is there any other sources that may be better to use besides kaplan, other than destroyer? Im looking for something that can get the basics across in a way that doesnt make me sleepy. Ive heard mentioning of organic chem as a second language but there is two books. One for Ochem 1 and for Ochem 2. If you guys suggest this which one should i buy? I have also found a book online called Organic Chemistry Demysitfied. Has anyone used this? It is really cheap. Thanks for your input.

It may be dry, but it's good. Just memorize!
My friends have told me that orgo as a 2nd language is a great study book, so if your a little shaky on orgo, those are 2 great books to read. However, it's only information to help you grasp what's going on. Not all the reactions are in there. And you'll still need to study nmr and ir. But again, good books to read. It didn't take him that long to get through them, and there are practice problems in there.
Also look into your textbooks, but pleaseeeee don't spend a huge bulk of your time actually reading the chapters over. That's just a waste of time. Just look at the summary pages and memorize!
The orgo section, in my opinion, was the simplest out of all the other science courses. Most of it is basic, elementary stuff, which is why I say Kaplan is good. Hope that helped.

I just think it is a lack of motivation. Last night, when I posted, it was just one of those days where my eyes were heavy and nothing was sticking. I have discovered that some days i am really motivated and others im just not. Ill stick with kaplan since I already have it and supplement it with my Ochem text from class. Thanks for all of your input though. This board is a wealth of knowledge.
