When you walk into your first day of Orgo.

Is this accurate or what

I also really enjoyed organic chemistry. Among the favorite science classes I've taken. If you're doing well, its also a great confidence booster given the reputation.

Orgo is fine. Just do practice problems and you'll be set. Too many premeds carry the bio mentality, and unfortunately, you cant learn orgo via memorization

I ****ing love Organic Chemistry. OP go into it thinking it'll be like a puzzle and look for patterns - it's not too bad either

I'm learning it rn and it's amazing! Huge relief. I've been scared of this class since I was in like eighth grade Lmfao from everything I was hearing.

My first week in Orgo was like that, because our teacher was in hyper drive. But I stumbled upon Clutch Prep and it saved my life (I'm not affiliated with them, but the tutor makes Orgo fun). Also, if you are an exercise science major like me, Biochem is kinda enjoyable. A lot of it applies to nutrition and that is my jam lol.

Does clutch prep allow you to watch videos from multiple subjects at once? Or does that cost more?

Yeah that's fake news. Biochemistry >orgo

Honestly I don't agree with this. I found biochemistry to be much more straightforward and less work in general than organic (most things were pretty much review from organic/bio). But that may just be my particular class.

Highly highly subjective 99.9% certain we didn't have the same professor and 99.8% sure you didn't go to my school. At some schools, Chem 2 is harder than biochem just because of the professors. At my school, analytical is right up there with Pchem on the difficulty level which is very odd.

It really does vary. Gen Chem 2 of all things is generally considered the hardest prereq at my school, at others I've heard Orgo 2, Biochem or Physics 2 is.

Yeah I agree it varies. I personally found Orgo 2 (carbonyl chem) to be the toughest.

Don't let these guys fool you, I hated every minute of organic chemistry.

On another note, having completed all the pre-reqs I can confidently say Gen Chem 2 was the hardest class I've taken. Although my teacher was like 25 and repeatedly stumbled over his words, so it could be professor specific. I just finished biochem over a 6 week summer course, it was a lot of work because we only had 10 real classes, but I still think I had more trouble with the content in gen chem 2. Biochem seemed pretty easy conceptually but just a lot of info.

I loved every minute of physics.

For Gen Chem 2, I think it really depends on how quantitative of a thinker you are. For me, the problems were almost exclusively applied math problems (acid/base, electrochemistry, etc). If you hate math, you'll find it hard, and vice versa.

Yes! They allow you to pick which book you use in class and they teach from that book. My wife took Orgo, Physics, and Genetics last semester (ouch... I know lol). But she paid $30 for the entire thing and she was able to watch from every subject.
Oh! If I'm not mistaken, they just added a new twist to Clutch Prep. For the $30 that you pay every month, you can request a private tutor. I'm not sure how long they will help you, but if you are struggling with a subject it sounds awesome. Also, I believe they make a final exam similar to your Professors final. Don't quote me on that one, but they just added a lot of new stuff a few weeks ago.

I would say I enjoy math but I don't love it. I liked Calc, I loved physics math, but I hated gen chem 2 for some reason. Maybe it's because physics seemed more fun, like a game.

Funny, I've always done pretty well with Chem math but had issues with physics math because it's less interesting (though I still make more mistakes in straight math courses).

Organic isn't that bad. It's scary because it's the last of the pre-med chemistry. Honestly, I had a much harder time with Physics.

Saaaame... algebra-based physics was enough to remind me why I was premed bioscience and not going for engineering lol. I did decently well in Physics 2, got like an A-, but for the amount of time I put in I wish it had been a better grade.
